Rules:

● Baked Products– Products made using baking as the method of cooking. – Only Vegetarian Dishes.
● This is a Millet Cooked Product Display Challenge; Cooks is to prepare the food item at home and display it at the venue.
● Entries are accepted on a first come first served basis
● A panel of 3 judges will taste every entry. The judging panel’s decision will be final.
● Number of participants in team: 3 maximum (1 – 3 people max in a team)
● You must name the dish, provide the recipe, and detail a brief inspiration behind the dish i.e. what made you choose the ingredients you chose. [ Finger Millet(கேழ்வரகு),Kodo Millet(வரகு),Foxtail Millet (திணை),Little Millet(சாமை), Barnyard Millet(குதிரைவாலி),Pearl Millet(கம்பு),Sorghum(சோளம்)]
● The final dish can be sweet or savory/hot or cold
● You must bring enough quantity to serve at least 15 portions.
● A team can bring any number of food items for the presentation, but all the items will be judged cumulatively as one for one team. There will NOT be any additional weightage given for the number of food items.
● The organizers will not be responsible for any damage or loss of exhibits, equipment, utensils or personal problems of the participants.
● Participants have to be present at their allocated display area before closing time to remove their exhibits and utensils
● All packing/exhibit wastage (garbage) must be removed from the exhibition hall before the process of judgment begins
● If any exhibited food product is found to be deteriorated (beyond acceptable standards) and not eligible to be exhibited, the organizers will have all the rights to remove the same.
● In case if any of the participants is declared a winner and is eligible for a prize, he/she should be present at the venue, at the time of the prize distribution ceremony,

Presentation requirements:
● You will be given 15 minutes to present your dish. We will notify you of the time to
bring your dish closer to the event date.
● Apart from table and table cloth, you will need to bring all items necessary to present
and plate your dish.
● You must display your team name and dish name along with the Washington Tamil Sangam logo or name in Tamil/English
● You must place a printed copy of the recipe next to the dish.
● You can portion part of your dish into tasting cups for judges/audience to taste. Tasting
cups will be provided at the venue.
● There will not be any heating equipment or refrigeration provided at the venue.

Criteria for Judging:

1. Flavor/Taste – 4 Pts
2. Texture/Consistency-2 Pts
3. Complexity/Effort – 1 Pt
4. Visual Appeal/Presentation – 2 Pts
5. Adherence to the theme- 1 Pt
Winners will be announced on the stage during the afternoon session (Check in front desk for results announcement timings).
